Compatibility Questions
This page is intended to collect the most frequently asked compatibity questions from the So-Cal DSM mailing list. While it is not intended to include the answer to every compatibilty questions ever asked relating to DSM's, I will make every attempt to include the questions that seem to frequently pop up. As the list grows, I will also organize it. In an effort to make sure that the information on this page can be relied on, I will try to verify the answers before they are posted.
1. Q: Is the ISC the same for all 1G's? A: ISC's were the same from 1991 - 1999 2. Q: Which axels can I use on my car?
A: 90-99 AWD front axles and 88-92 FWD front axles are all the same small size;
FWDs got bigger thicker axles in 93;
93 up FWDs would have to swap the differential to be able to use equal length axles;
Small axle FWD cars can use a Quaife, RalliArt, Cusco or Kazz differential;
Big axle FWD cars can only use a Quaife differential3. Q: Is the Oil Pressure Sensor the same for 1G's and 2G's? A: Yes 4. Q: Do 1G FWD's have different front and rear engine mount brackets than 1G AWD's? A: Yes, the brackets are different. 5. Q: Can ARP studs from a 7 bolt be used in a 6 bolt? A: No, 7 bolt ones are 11mm, the 6 bolt ones are 12mm. 6. Q: Will US EVO VIII brakes fit on a 1G or 2G? A: No, but they do bolt up to a 2000+ Eclipse or 8G Galant.
